This Weekend in Pittsburgh: November 6 – 8
Published Thursday, November 5, 2026. No Steelers, no Pitt football — both are on byes — so the stages carry this weekend, and they carry it well: Sting plays two nights at Citizens Live at The Wylie (Friday and Saturday, 8:00 PM, with special guest Chance Emerson), Jim Gaffigan fills PPG Paints Arena Saturday, the Pittsburgh Symphony plays Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto all three days at Heinz Hall, and Kamasi Washington joins Ami Taf Ra at City Winery Friday. Downtown stacks the Pet Expo and the PGH Vintage Mixer under one convention-center roof, the Three Rivers Film Festival runs all weekend, Matilda closes at the Byham, and Sunday pairs Blade Runner Live in Homestead with Twin Peaks at the Roxian. Every date below was verified against venue, team, and ticketing listings — lineups can change, so confirm before you head out.

Honest note on sports: this is a bye-week weekend, and we're not going to dress it up. The Steelers are off in Week 9 after beating Cleveland 27–6 on November 1 — they're 6–2, and their next game is Sunday, November 15 at Cincinnati on Sunday Night Football. Pitt football also has its open date Saturday, November 7; the Panthers return Friday, November 13 against Florida State at Acrisure. The Penguins are on a California road trip — at Los Angeles Saturday (9:00 PM ET) and at Anaheim Sunday (8:00 PM ET), both watch-party framing only — and the Pirates' season is long over. The one home college game on the board is a good one, though: Pitt women's volleyball hosts North Carolina Sunday at 1:00 PM. So the weekend belongs to the stages: two nights of Sting, Gaffigan's arena show, and three days of the Symphony. Heading out with your crew to a show, a festival, or a watch party? That's exactly what the bus is for — see below.
